Under Threat

Prior to the War of 1967, farmers in Wadi Qana maintained a mutualistic relationship with the land. However settlements were built here in the early days of the Israeli occupation, throwing off this delicate balance.

The Israeli civil administration in the West Bank has declared Wadi Qana a Nature Reserve, using this premise to forcibly remove the local population. However under the control of the Nature Reserve Administration, large urban settlements have been illegally constructed in and around the valley, bringing with them destruction, pollution, and armed settlers.
